The following are discriminations a breeder should breed against. None of these constitute a disqualification, but when all things are equal between two individuals, these items should be selected against.
- Gold Leakage on the male.
- Ideally each feather should be solid white or solid black. In experience most birds will have some feathers that may be a mix of both black and white. Some birds have more of these mis-marked feathers than others. As opportunity allows, select away from this.
- Gray feathers.
- Black spots and willow coloration on legs. The preferred leg coloration is solid yellow, followed by a minor discrimination of black spots on legs, followed by a discrimination of willow color on legs.
